Date Night

In New York City, a case of mistaken identity turns a bored married couple's attempt at a glamorous and romantic evening into something more thrilling and dangerous.

Holy mungus, this might very well be the funniest movie I have seen in my life. Troy and I still quote lines from this movie. I'll be honest, Steve Carell is kind of hit or miss with me. Sometimes I think he's funny, and other times I think he's an idiot. He may have won me over in this movie. These two as a married couple really worked, and they are hilarious together. There are so many funny parts in this movie that it would take forever to talk about them all. This is one I'd definitely watch again, and would highly recommend it if you haven't seen it already. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars.

The Expendables

A team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.

The Expendables was exactly what I thought it would be: an action filled movie with some of my favorite actors. The story was okay, it wasn't anything amazing, but I think the acting was good, and there was a lot of Jason Statham, and that's never a bad thing.

Oops, how did that get there? I've lost my train of thought. Oh yeah, Expendables. If you're not an action movie fan, you won't like this movie. I can pretty much guarantee that. But if, like me, you're all about stuff blowing up and everybody shooting and fighting everybody else, you'll love this. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Eat Pray Love

I think I could rename this movie: Boring Stupid Long. I didn't like Julia's character at all... enough that I started really disliking Julia Roberts. I wanted to shake her and tell her how selfish, clueless, and silly she is. It took her a year of traveling to amazing places to learn... what? Nothing? Some tidbit of life that the rest of us knew when we were born? Maybe I'm being too hard on the movie, but I'm trying to figure out how someone can make a year of being in some of the most beautiful and amazing places in the world the most boring story ever? Makes me glad I never wasted my time reading the book. 1 star.

Iron man 2

We went and saw Iron Man 2 at the drive in movies last night. It was a good movie but not as good as the first one. It seemed like a lot of time went into special effects and not enough time went into developing the story. There were a few parts that seemed like they were going to be really exciting but when it got down to it, it was a little anti climatic. The special effects and the music int he movie were really good but don't expect this one to be as good as the first.
I would give this 3.5 out of 5 stars

Alice in Wonderland (New One)

19-year-old Alice returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen's reign of terror.
Before I saw this movie, I kind of was unsure. I heard from a lot of people that it was weird. I wanted to see it though because I liked the Disney Alice in Wonderland. I thought it would be based on the same story line, and it was but it was just kind of different. Overall I thought that this was a great movie and I would definitely not mind seeing it again. This was a cute movie. and there were some funny parts, and the plot was interesting. There was something about this movie that was just different from others. So I guess you could say it is weird, but it is a good kind of weird. I would rate this movie a 5 out of 5.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

I thought this movie was really good. The acting was pretty good. This movie was good because there was action as well as comedy. I haven't read the book, but I've heard the movie doesn't do it justice. I thought by itself though, the movie was really good. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Sherlock Holmes

We were finally able to make it to the theatre to see Sherlock Holmes... yay for vacations! I thought it was decent adventure flick, and fun enough to watch. There was a lot of slow motion fight scenes and some different effects. I liked the pieces coming together at the end. They did leave it WIDE open for a second Sherlock Holmes though, which kind of bugged me. I don't like big gaping holes left at the end. 3.5 stars.

Emma

I just watched the last segment of this movie online (I forgot AGAIN to watch it on TV on Sunday) and I love love love love loved it. I loved it. I can think of three versions of Emma off the top of my head, and I'd definitely say this is my favorite. I also love the one with Kate Beckinsale, and the one with Gwyneth Paltrow would be the bottom of the three. It's alright, but doesn't compare to the other two in my opinion. I thought the acting was very well done, I felt everything clear to my heart, and the scenery was incredibly gorgeous. So, if you're a Jane Austen nut like me, watch this one. I want to buy it, but I can't afford the $35 right now. 5 out of 5 stars.

Zombieland

Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) has made a habit of running from what scares him. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) doesn’t have fears. If he did, he’d kick (more...)

I'm trying something new here with this movie widget thing.  I think it's kind of cool.  It seems easier than searching for a movie poster, saving it, and then uploading it to blogger.  Anyway, Zombieland.  This movie was hilarious.  Even now, I keep thinking about funny things.  The survival rules were awesome.  I didn't really expect to like it as well as I did.  I would definitely recommend this one!  4 1/2 out of 5.

When in Rome

I really didn't know what this movie was about before I went, but it has Kristen Bell in it, and I love Kristen Bell. More specifically I love Veronica Mars, but that's beside the point. Anyway, it was a lot silly, especially when they pulled Pedro into the mix to go along with Jon Heder's character (and I liked Napoleon Dynamite, so you know it's a bad gag). There were some funny parts, some frustrating parts, and it wasn't one of those melt your heart romances, BUT it was an okay show, and if you're out with the girls for your birthday it makes it even more fun, and this sentence might never end. I'll give it a 2.5 out of 5.
